Sonny's Krewe at Medicine Show 12 Thanks to your support (and to those of you who worked hard to sell merchandise at dozens of 2008 shows), Sonny's Krewe was able to donate $13,500 to the Dr. Tommy Comeaux fund this year. Our four-year total is over $45,000! Sonny Headlines Medicine Show 12 Sonny Landreth closed the 12th annual Medicine Show in Lafayette on Dec. 26 with guest performer Leslie "Lazy Lester" Johnson. The set featured four blues standards, including Johnson's 1958 Excello hit, "I'm A Lover Not A Fighter". The show, a benefit for the Dr. Tommy Comeaux Memorial Fund, also included performances by Zydeco masters Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, and a reunion of 80's band The Rocking Shapes. Appearing as a special unnanounced guest was folk legend Joan Baez, who performed a short set earlier in the evening and was seen dancing throughout Geno's set. Zachary Richard had been announced in the artist lineup but was unable to attend due to illness. Unfortunately, no Abita Amber was available at the Grant Street bar.
